Review: They Called Him Zone - Miami
Bradford-based 'They Called Him Zone' release their 'Miami' EP, a three-track release of dark electro-pop starting with the Babylon Zoo-esque title track which sways and swaggers with other worldy electronic riffs and a creeping sense of darkness. 'The Rain Comes Down', a less heavy affair with clearer vocals, is my favourite of the trio, its driving rhythm and gruff singing style, combined with its simple yet memorable chorus, making it.
The EP wraps up with 'Sunset Beach', a return to the darker style of the first track but improving on it with a more recognisable choral hook and general vibe.
'Miami' EP is the polar opposite of the title: dark, ominous, foreboding, but is all the better for it. A dark sonic delight. (6/10)
