Another ten songs you have to hear! Chris Simmons - Gold Dust 'Gold Dust' is a calm and emotive ballad with strong lyrics and a pleasing, gentle vibe that ebbs and flows. Lovely. (7/10) East Of Eli - Child's Play 'Child's Play' is a soaring electro-funk number with a great rhythm, catchy chorus and an interesting mix of production effects. Fun! (7/10) Eoin Glackin - Wear It While You Can
I managed to see Glackin live three years ago, playing this song, so it's nice to see him bringing music out. This is a bouncy, folk-tinged number with a foot-tapping beat and optimistic sunny vibe! (7/10) Galaxy Thief - For A Bad Time With shades of pop-punk and Blink 182 in their sound, 'For A Bad Time' is a simple and raw number with hints of ska and a determined drum beat. (6/10) Hebe - Limits
With an 'Oh Wonder' vibe this gentle electro-style number showcases a powerful voice over some surprisingly memorable moments. (6.5/10) Klez - Ain't Nobody's Fool
'Ain't Nobody's Fool' is a catchy, soulful little single with a strong 70s vibe that brings the funk back into the 21st Century, plus its big and bold breakdown cements my love for it. (7/10) Mary Byrne - I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself This cover of the classic Dusty Springfield song doesn't do anything remarkable or different with the production, arrangement and style but Byrne's powerful voice and the crisp modern production make for a refreshed version of the familiar song. (6.5/10) Reverend and the Makers - Auld Reekie Blues
The first of the new 'Reverend and the Makers'-sound singles I've enjoyed, this is a cool, hippy piece with a smooth, post-summer vibe. I'm still a bigger fan of their older indie vibes but this is an interesting and refreshing change in style and it works. (6/10) Steve Rodgers - Head Up High
Even better than his last single, 'Head Up High' is a warm, upbeat pop-rock song with a really optimistic vibe and a strong radio-friendly sound from its catchy chorus to its clap-along a capella ending. (6.5/10) Tally Spear - Days Like These
'Days Like These' is a gorgeous little pop-country song with a perky pace with Spear's loveable vocals complimenting the vibe perfectly, with the harmonica section adding some extra vibes to the production. Delightful. (7/10)
Do you want ten more songs you need to hear? Well you're in the right place! ALMA - Chasing Highs
The best song from ALMA so far, it might have moments of inspiration from many other club songs but it's difficult not to enjoy her lead vocals even if the production is samey and chorus too repetitive. (6.5/10) Beauty Sleep - All In
'All In' is a catchy pop-indie track with a simple yet summery choral hook and a nice laid-back vibe that will keep you interested. (6.5/10) Big Boi feat. Adam Levine - Mic Jack
Maybe not up to the power of Outkast at the heights of their power this is still a fun collaboration, though Levine's pop-centrered chorus is more interesting than Big Boi's OK rap-verses. (7/10) Hailee Steinfeld - Most Girls
The lyrics and delivery are more uplifting and inspirational than the generic music backing, but as a whole this is a well-aimed slice of pop-rnb. (6.5/10) Hebe - Take Him Down 'Take Him Down' is a catchy, indie-pop number with a catchy central hook that's like a lighter, more care-free, Florence and the Machine. (6.5/10) Jesse Malin - Meet Me at the End of the World The vocals may be a little muddied by the production but it's a fun and funky driving little indie-rock song with a warm vibe. (6.5/10) Kathryn Williams - She Wears A Dress 'She Wears A Dress' is a fun, airy, laid-back number with an early summer vibe. Nice and relaxing. (7/10) Matrix & Futurebound feat. Calum Scott - Light Us Up
Again, like many of its contemporaries, its the guest vocalist that excites more than the generic club-music, but is plenty of fun festival-focussed power even if it sounds too familiar. (6.5/10) MØ - Nights With You
Another great pop-rnb song from MØ with plenty of balls, a bass-hefty swagger and a catchy vocal hook at its centre. (7/10) Rita Ora - Your Song
The lyrics may be a little fag-packet and the chorus tired but it a bouncy pop-feel to keep you smiling, though it's a shadow of her previous work. (6/10)
It's time for another ten tracks you need to hear! AstroVoyager - First Lights With hints of dark industrial elements 'First Lights' mixes Moby, Fatboy Slim and Robert Miles into an atmospheric soundscape. (7/10) Hebe - Tell Me
'Tell Me' is a cool, calming indie number with Hebe's delightfully calm and alluring vocals taking centre stage. Lovely. (6.5/10) January Thompson - Whelmed
'Whelmed' is the single single from January's current album and is another beautifully crafted and sung ballad that is dreamy in its delivery. (6.5/10) Mauro Dirago - Slave For You With hints of Sting in his melancholic saxophone line, this is a delightfully silky and undulating number that ticks all the right boxes. (7/10) Seyi Shay - Yolo Yolo
Sounding like Rihanna before she went more commercial, this samba-influenced number might be making illusions to a capitalised YOLO but even if not its an uplifting ska-style song with a vibrant multi-colour heart. (6.5/10) THE SLVR TONGUES - Ain't Just the Whiskey
This follow-up to their last single may be more stripped back but the harmonies, country-pop tinges and subtle yet enjoyable production still ear-mark them as a strong contender on the country scene. (7/10) Sweet Tempest - Colourful Rain
As gentle as their track below but more memorable and poppier in its laid-back vibe, this is a strong yet sweet number. (7/10) Sweet Tempest - Empty Box
'Empty Box' is a gentle, underlating track that offers a calming and relaxing mood to anyone who listens to it. Subtle but involving. (6/10) Tallia Storm - Still In Love With plenty of attitude and production effects to give the vocals some bite, this is a sunny, catchy, laid-back number with summery swagger like a beefier Eliza Doolittle sound. Great. (7/10) This Party - Lover
Though the production may be a little quiet and lacking in depth the song itself is a nice slice of indie-pop that does what it needs to do in its two-and-half-minutes run time with a fun guitar and vocal hook. (6.5/10)
